At Damen, we can learn something new every day!
For the last couple of days we had, at Marine Engineering, the L&D Outfitting training program. The session brought together 50 colleagues, from Arrangement & Outfitting teams, for sharing knowledge, best practices and real engineering challenges.
Supported by our group partners, from Damen Naval, the discussions tackled sensitive topics, honest questions and encouraged collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
It was not only about ship design engineering, about the software, rules & regulation in the naval industry, but about the people, the collaboration and thinking out of the box, and most of all about the awareness of each single task or job in the whole process of designing and building a ship!
It was about the systemic learning of the future, where culture, communication and feedback loops matter as much as technical skills!

MEGA is a modern engineering company, part of DAMEN Naval division from DAMEN Group, set up in 2004 and specialized in engineering for shipbuilding, mainly providing detailed engineering packages for hull, piping, arrangements and outfitting, FEM, ILS and Data Engineering Support activities and performing also inclining tests.
Having almost 200 employees, from whom more than 90% are direct hull & steel outfitting or mechanical/ piping/ electrical/ HVAC engineers, working in 2 modern office buildings, in Galati, within Damen Shipyards Galati premises.
With very young engineers, hired just after graduation, MEGA team is a well-balanced mix of ambitious, enthusiastic, eager to learn and experienced engineers, with significant experience in design engineering and also in production.
