Following a business development plan and the technical & security requirements for the F126 project, MEGA is officially opening the second office building within DAMEN shipyards premises. The 2 floors office building was the former training office of the shipyard, now completely renovated and reshaped according to security requirements of F126 project; it can accommodate more than 100 people, having, on the 1st and 2nd floor, modern open-space desks, a nice canteen at the ground floor, meeting rooms and a training room dedicated to 3DX trainings provided by our partners from AITAC Croatia.
With the official opening of the company’s new secure offices, at the end of October 2022, we can say that the Detailed Engineering phase for F126 has well and truly begun.
While the Basic Engineering was divided into disciplines, the Detailed Engineering is organised into multidisciplinary teams, using 3DX Experience software, instead of Nupas-Cadmatic, which will be a challenge on such a complex project.
Each section of the ship has a team leader based in Galati, who coordinates the multidisciplinary team for that section. This person has a counterpart team leader based in the Netherlands. These two people coordinate the Detailed Engineering per section. In total, there are currently 45 MEGA engineers and 5 support staff working on the F126 project, but this will increase to around 100 over the coming year.
