Through the comprehensive naval cluster built by Damen in Galati, Romania is currently on the exclusive list of European states capable of designing and producing complex and modern military ships on its territory. We are grateful for the continuous dialogue with the Romanian Ministry of National Defence in recent years, including high-level visits to our design and shipbuilding capabilities in Galati. We are aware of the Romanian naval projects, including those to be financed through Security Action for Europe (#SAFE), and Damen is ready to build the ships desired by the Romanian Naval Forces in Damen Shipyards Galati, in accordance with their operational and technical requirements.
As the only naval ship producer in Romania after 1990, we believe Marine Engineering Galati and Damen Shipyards Galati are uniquely positioned to offer the Romanian Navy design, construction, and life-time support in Romania for any type of military surface ship.
The Dutch-Belgian ASWF programme, implemented in Romania for design and production, is a European collaborative naval programme and a viable solution to be considered by the Romanian Naval Forces.
